Zabrze
Dom Muzyki i Tańca (House of Music and Dance) in Zabrze is a large entertainment and concert hall built in 1959 to a design by architects Zygmunt Majerski and Julian Duchowicz in the socmodernist style. The auditorium seats over 2,000 and ranks among the best-equipped concert venues in Poland in terms of acoustics and technical facilities. Since its opening it has hosted world-class artists such as Leonard Cohen, Plácido Domingo and José Carreras, earning the nickname "House on the Stars' Route". Since 1992 it has been the venue for the charity concert series "Serce za serce" of the Cardiac Surgery Development Foundation.
