Kolonia Wawelberga

Warsaw, Poland

About the venue

Kolonia Wawelberga is a late 19th-century workers' housing estate in Warsaw's Wola district, built in the 1890s on the initiative of banker and philanthropist Hipolit Wawelberg. The red-brick residential complex was designed to provide decent living conditions for factory workers and stands as one of the rare surviving examples of philanthropic housing from that era. Today the estate hosts cultural events and serves as a reminder of Warsaw's industrial past.
