Manggha Centre

Krakow, Poland

About the venue

Manggha Centre (Centrum Sztuki i Techniki Japońskiej Manggha) is a museum of Japanese art and culture on the bank of the Vistula river, facing Wawel Castle. Opened in 1994, it was built to house the collection of Feliks Jasieński, who signed his works under the pseudonym "Manggha". The building was designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and funded in part by filmmaker Andrzej Wajda. Beyond its permanent collection of Japanese prints, ceramics and armour, it regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, film screenings and cultural events.
