About the venue

Opera Leśna (Forest Opera) is a 4-hectare open-air amphitheatre opened in 1909 in Sopot, on the edge of the Tricity Landscape Park. Its covered auditorium seats over 5,000 spectators. The venue became famous for its pre-war Wagner festivals, earning the nickname "second Bayreuth". Since 1960 it has hosted the annual Sopot Festival, and world stars such as Elton John, Whitney Houston and Lionel Richie have performed here.
