The Polish Baltic Philharmonic named after Fryderyk Chopin in Gdańsk is located on Ołowianka Island in the historic buildings of a former city power plant built in 1897–1898. Founded in 1945 as the Municipal Symphony Orchestra, it is today the largest music institution in northern Poland. It features a Concert Hall (750 seats), a Chamber Hall (180 seats), and additional halls. The programme includes symphonic concerts, recitals, festivals, and fine-art exhibitions.
