Wisłoujście Fortress is a medieval river-mouth fortification in Gdańsk, guarding the entrance to the Vistula river since the 14th century. Over the following centuries it was expanded with Renaissance and Baroque defensive works, including a distinctive round tower and a star-shaped outer ring. Today the fortress hosts open-air historical events, concerts, and theatrical performances within its walls.
