The milestone 20th broadcast of André Rieu's summer concert from Maastricht will arrive in cinemas worldwide this autumn. In July 2026, the Maestro and his Johann Strauss Orchestra will perform for the twentieth time on Vrijthof – the famous square in the heart of Maastricht. The new show is titled "Long Live Maastricht!" and is a tribute to Rieu's hometown, where the first concert of this series took place 20 years ago.
The programme will feature waltzes and marches by Johann Strauss the Elder and Johann Strauss the Younger, including "The Blue Danube" and "Radetzky March", as well as songs from the musicals "My Fair Lady" and "Les Misérables" and "Gabriel's Oboe" by Ennio Morricone from the film "The Mission". The stage will feature the Platinum Tenors, internationally renowned sopranos and artists who have never performed on Vrijthof before.
For Polish audiences, the broadcast will be hosted by Maja Jasińska – flautist of the Johann Strauss Orchestra. Her presentation will include behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with André Rieu conducted exclusively for Polish cinema audiences.
