Alex Malheiros is a Brazilian bassist and the sole surviving founding member of the jazz-funk trio Azymuth, which he co-founded in Rio de Janeiro around 1970. Over the decades he contributed to more than thirty albums with the group. Following the deaths of his co-founders, he carries the project forward as its last original voice.
