About
Alexandre Tharaud (born 9 December 1968 in Paris) is a French pianist whose repertoire stretches from Baroque keyboard music to contemporary commissions, with a particular affinity for French composers from Rameau to Satie. He has released over 25 solo albums - most of them award-winning - on labels including Harmonia Mundi, Erato and Warner Classics, and has appeared in Michael Haneke's Palme d'Or film Amour (2012) as himself. A three-time winner of the Victoires de la Musique Classique and a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters, he is widely regarded as one of the leading French pianists of his generation.

Tharaud released Satie: Discoveries on Erato (27 June 2025), a digital album of 27 previously unpublished works by Erik Satie, timed to the centenary of the composer's death.
