Allie X is the stage name of Alexandra Ashley Hughes (born 31 July 1985, Oakville, Ontario), a Canadian singer-songwriter and visual artist who works across synth-pop, electropop, and avant-garde pop. She built her reputation in Toronto's indie scene before relocating to Los Angeles in 2013, breaking through with the 2014 single "Catch" - which gained wide attention after Katy Perry called it her "spring jam" on social media. Her four studio albums, from CollXtion II (2017) through Girl With No Face (2024) and Happiness Is Going to Get You (2025), are all self-produced and self-directed, reflecting her total creative control over music, visuals, and live performance.
