About

Ausbilder Schmidt is the stage persona of German comedian Holger Müller (born 13 February 1969 in Idar-Oberstein), who has performed the character since 2001. The figure - a gruff, olive-uniformed military drill instructor - is a satirical send-up of authoritarian bluster, and has become one of the most recognisable cult acts in German stand-up comedy. Müller developed the character after completing his military service and graduating from the Köln Comedy Schule in 1999; over more than 5,000 live appearances he has released four CDs, a book and a cinema film.
