Blood Red Throne is a Norwegian death metal band founded in 1998 in Kristiansand by guitarist Daniel "Død" Olaisen, who had previously toured with Satyricon. Regarded alongside Cadaver as Norway's purest death metal act, the band draws heavily on the Florida death metal tradition and has built a reputation for punishing live shows. Twelve studio albums in, with a rotating cast of members around the constant of Olaisen, they remain one of Scandinavia's most consistent forces in the genre.
Blood Red Throne released their 12th studio album, Siltskin, on December 5, 2025 via Soulseller Records.
The band released the single and video "Husk In The Grain" ahead of the Siltskin album.
Siltskin received a 92% average review score on Metal Archives shortly after release.
Sindre Wathne Johnsen joined as the new vocalist in 2023, replacing Yngve "Bolt" Christiansen who had held the role since 2011.
Blood Red Throne are scheduled to perform at Wacken Open Air 2026 on July 29.
