About

Boris Grebenshchikov (born 1953 in Leningrad) is the founder and lead singer of Aquarium, the rock group that helped define the Soviet underground music scene from 1972 onward. Known simply as BG, he weaves folk, reggae, Celtic and Eastern influences into lyrics dense with poetry and philosophy - earning comparisons to Bob Dylan and David Bowie from Western critics. Since March 2022 he has performed under the name BG+, based in London, and continues to release and tour internationally.
