About

Carl Craig (born May 22, 1969, Detroit) is a DJ, producer and founder of the Planet E Communications label, widely recognised as one of the key architects of Detroit techno's second wave in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Recording under aliases including 69, Paperclip People and Innerzone Orchestra, he has pushed the genre far beyond the club - into orchestral halls, art museums and, most recently, a nuclear physics laboratory. His 2024 documentary Desire: The Carl Craig Story, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, brought his story to a global audience.
