Klubnacht with Carl Craig, Marcel Janovsky
Club night at Gewölbe with DJs Carl Craig and Marcel Janovsky. Electronic music from 11 PM to 6 AM.
Carl Craig (born May 22, 1969, Detroit) is a DJ, producer and founder of the Planet E Communications label, widely recognised as one of the key architects of Detroit techno's second wave in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Recording under aliases including 69, Paperclip People and Innerzone Orchestra, he has pushed the genre far beyond the club - into orchestral halls, art museums and, most recently, a nuclear physics laboratory. His 2024 documentary Desire: The Carl Craig Story, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, brought his story to a global audience.
DJ Mag Italia published a feature on Craig and Jeff Mills in July 2026, continuing press attention around Craig's recent projects.
Craig released his ambient album Meditations on Planet E Communications on April 23, 2026 - its first full appearance on digital streaming platforms.
Michigan State University named Craig artist-in-residence from January through April 2026, collaborating with nuclear physics researchers at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) toward a new sound installation.
Craig headlined the Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit in June 2025, where the documentary Desire: The Carl Craig Story was screened at a pre-party event.
The documentary Desire: The Carl Craig Story, directed by Jean-Cosme Delaloye, premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival.
