Cécile McLorin Salvant (born 1989 in Miami) is a French-American jazz singer, composer, and visual artist of Haitian-French heritage. She won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in 2010 and has since claimed three consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album - for For One to Love (2015), Dreams and Daggers (2017), and The Window (2018). In 2020 she received a MacArthur Fellowship, and her work spans jazz, blues, baroque, folk, and musical theater.
Salvant released With Every Breath I Take (June 26, 2026, Nonesuch Records), her first orchestral album, recorded with the Netherlands' Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley, with arrangements by Darcy James Argue.
CBS News included Salvant's song 'Take This Stone' in its list of the 250 essential American songs of the past 250 years.
Salvant performed with Sullivan Fortner at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum's Art of Jazz series (April 19, 2026).
Nonesuch Records released Salvant's album Oh Snap on September 19, 2025, a stylistically wide-ranging record drawing on her 1990s Miami childhood.
