Concertgebouworkest (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra) is a Dutch symphony orchestra based in Amsterdam, founded in 1888. It ranks among the most respected orchestras in the world, with a distinctive sound shaped in large part by the acoustics of the Concertgebouw hall. Past chief conductors include Willem Mengelberg, Bernard Haitink and Mariss Jansons.
