DakhaBrakha is a Ukrainian world-music quartet founded in 2004 at Kyiv's experimental Dakh theatre by director Vladyslav Troitskyi. The four members - Marko Halanevych, Olena Tsybulska, Iryna Kovalenko and Nina Harenetska - weave authentic Ukrainian folk songs together with percussion, cello and instruments drawn from traditions across Africa, India and the Middle East, calling the result 'ethno-chaos'. They have performed at Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, Roskilde and Sziget, and in 2020 received Ukraine's highest cultural honour, the Shevchenko National Prize.
DakhaBrakha released their seventh studio album Ptakh (Bird) on December 24-25, 2025, a 14-track record featuring poet Serhiy Zhadan.
Members of DakhaBrakha were awarded the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for their contribution to culture and for promoting Ukrainian art internationally.
DakhaBrakha performed at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee in March 2025.
DakhaBrakha launched the North American leg of their 20th Anniversary World Tour at OZ Arts Nashville on September 12, 2024, raising funds for the Revived Soldiers Ukraine Foundation.
DakhaBrakha won globalFEST's Artist Award in the USA and were named Chevaliers of the Order of Arts in France.
