DakhaBrakha

The Ukrainian quartet DakhaBrakha originates from the Kyiv experimental theatre "Dakh". The ensemble blends authentic Ukrainian folk songs with rhythms and instruments from around the world - a style they call "ethno-chaos", developed through field expeditions, archival research, and deep roots in folklore. The group's concerts have been featured at festivals including Glastonbury, Sziget, Pohoda, Bonnaroo, Roskilde, and GlobalFEST, with tours spanning from Mexico to South Korea.

The European tour promotes their latest album "Ptakh" ("Bird" in Ukrainian), which the artists have been developing over recent years. The record draws from Ukrainian resistance and national resilience, as well as from solidarity with people worldwide. The title is also a recurring symbol in DakhaBrakha's work - a metaphor for freedom and the voice of Ukraine.

The ensemble's concerts merge music with theatre: the visual design is an integral part of the performance, not merely a backdrop to the sound.
