Dianne Reeves (born 1956, Detroit) is an American jazz vocalist widely regarded as the pre-eminent singer of her generation. She holds five Grammy Awards - including three consecutive wins for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, a first in any vocal category - and in 2018 was designated an NEA Jazz Master, the highest honour the United States bestows on a jazz artist. Signed to Blue Note Records from 1987, she has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic under Sir Simon Rattle, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, while her voice and improvisational range draw on jazz, soul, gospel and world music alike.
