About
Die Seilschaft is the German band that backed East German singer-songwriter Gerhard Gundermann until his death in 1998. Their music carried a sharp social edge and became closely tied to the experience of a generation growing up in the GDR. The band continues to perform, returning to the stripped-back acoustic sound that defined Gundermann's work.
