Douglas Stuart is a Scottish-American author born in Glasgow. His debut novel Shuggie Bain (2020), a semi-autobiographical story set in 1980s Glasgow, won the Booker Prize. His second novel Young Mungo (2022) again explores working-class Scottish life, queer identity, and family bonds. John of John is his third novel.
