About

Dritte Wahl is a German Deutschpunk band from Rostock, active since their first gig in 1988 - making them one of the few punk acts that were already playing in the final years of the GDR. Their politically direct, left-leaning lyrics, combined with a sound that pulls in metal and occasional ska or reggae touches, have earned them a loyal following well beyond the punk scene. With twelve studio albums and a string of German chart entries since 2015, they run their own label, Dritte Wahl Records, and remain one of the most consistently active live bands in German-speaking rock.
