About
El Tri is a Mexican rock band from Mexico City, founded in 1968 by singer and bassist Álex Lora under the name Three Souls in My Mind before adopting its current name in 1984. Rooted in blues-rock and hard rock, the band sings exclusively in Spanish and is widely regarded as one of the founding forces of Mexican rock. With over 30 million records sold and five Grammy nominations, El Tri has spent more than five decades as a cultural institution - its songs addressing poverty, corruption and everyday Mexican life with a directness that has won generations of fans.
