About

Elder is an American rock band formed in Massachusetts in the mid-2000s, now based in Berlin. Over seven studio albums they have grown from stoner/doom roots into one of the most distinctive voices in heavy psychedelic and progressive rock, with long-form compositions that Rolling Stone described as having "sheer gatefold-era grandeur". Their 2015 album Lore is widely regarded as a landmark of the genre, and 2017's Reflections of a Floating World placed at #5 on Rolling Stone's Best Metal Albums of the Year.
