Kadavar - Support: Elder — Kulturzentrum franz.K, Reutlingen

What's actually still missing for the apocalypse? Fire from the sky? Locusts? Oceans of blood? Everything else is already here. And it's been that way for a while: back in 2017, Kadavar were already grinding through their own doomsday scenario on "Rough Times". Eight years on, they find things have only gotten worse - much, much worse. Berlin's rock royalty responds with music once again, and this time they sound rawer, heavier, more compact and darker than ever: "K.A.D.A.V.A.R." is like a second debut, a new benchmark that weds the riff-obsessed energy of their early days to the spacey creativity of their new four-piece lineup.

Just weeks before the new LP dropped, Kadavar made a remarkable fresh start in May 2025 with the sprawling space-rock trip "I Just Want To Be A Sound". It was necessary: Lupus Lindemann, Tiger Bartelt, Jascha Kreft and Simon Bouteloup were burned out. Exhausted from touring the world. Maybe even from each other. But what do you do with everything you've built? How do you keep a career going that made Kadavar the biggest German vintage-rock export on the planet, when that career suddenly feels like a burden? Just quit? Keep going as before? Neither. Tear it all down.

Working with producer Max Rieger (Die Nerven), Kadavar set out to rediscover who they are. "I Just Want To Be A Sound" becomes the new foundation for their sound - something to build on from scratch. And it breaks the dam for good: just months after that reset, Kadavar return to the raw fuzz-driven source of their power. They haven't sounded this free, this unleashed in years. New member Jascha Kreft (Odd Couple) now plays a central role in the Kadavar sound - without him, the music would be something else entirely. The end of the classic power trio forced the band to rethink everything.
