EMF are an English alternative rock band from Cinderford, Gloucestershire, formed in 1989. Their debut single "Unbelievable" (1990) hit number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and reached number three in the UK, making them one of the few British acts of that era to break America with a debut release. The band blends rock guitars, electronic samples and dance rhythms - a sound rooted in the Madchester scene but with a harder hip-hop edge. After splitting in the late 1990s and a series of reunions, they returned to active recording with Go Go Sapiens (2022) and The Beauty and the Chaos (2024), their fifth studio album.
