Emil Brandqvist Trio is a Scandinavian jazz ensemble led by Swedish drummer and composer Emil Brandqvist, alongside Finnish pianist Tuomas A. Turunen and Swedish bassist Max Thornberg. Based in Gothenburg, the trio draws on folk and classical traditions to craft atmospheric, melody-driven piano jazz that has earned them a loyal following across Europe. Since their 2013 debut 'Breathe Out', they have released seven albums on the German label Skip Records, charting repeatedly on the German Jazz Charts and accumulating over 50 million streams worldwide.
'Poems for Travellers' was released on April 4, 2025 and immediately reached #1 on the German Jazz Charts.
