Evita is a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice, which premiered in London in 1978. It traces the life of Argentine first lady Eva Perón, from a poor childhood to her rise alongside President Juan Perón. The ballad "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" is its most recognizable song.
