Staatsoperette Dresden is Germany's only state-run operetta theatre, founded in 1947. Since 2016 it has been housed in a modernised building in the Kraftwerk Mitte cultural quarter. The repertoire focuses on operetta and musical theatre, ranging from classical works by Lehár and Kálmán to Broadway musicals.
