Hans Zimmer, born September 12, 1957 in Frankfurt am Main, is a German composer and music producer whose film scores have shaped the sound of Hollywood for four decades. He has composed music for over 500 projects - among them The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception, Interstellar and Dune - with a combined worldwide box office exceeding $30 billion. His awards include two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes and five Grammys, and in 2010 he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
