Heavysaurus is a German children's heavy metal band founded in 2017, built on the concept of the Finnish original Hevisaurus - created by Thunderstone drummer Mirka Rantanen. Four dinosaurs and a dragon perform real hard rock and metal for families, with experienced musicians behind the costumes, including Frank Beck (Gamma Ray) and Michael Voss (Mad Max). Their debut album Rock'n'Rarr came out on Sony Music in 2018; by 2024 the band had become one of the most active live acts in the German-speaking world, playing over 350 shows in two years.
Heavysaurus released their new album Metal on 30 January 2026, featuring 15 new songs, followed by the Metal Tour 2026/27 across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The Metal Tour 2026 was announced in August 2025, with ticket pre-sale starting on 1 August 2025 via CTS Eventim, Ö-Ticket and Ticketcorner.
Pommesgabel Reload, an expanded edition of the 2024 album with eight additional tracks (20 songs total), was released at the end of 2024.
The album Pommesgabel entered the German album charts at number 11 upon its February 2024 release.
Heavysaurus completed over 350 live dates across the Pommesgabel Tour 2024 and 2025, cementing their status as one of the most active family-metal acts in the DACH region.
