About
Horse Lords is an experimental rock quartet from Baltimore, Maryland, formed in 2010, consisting of Andrew Bernstein (saxophone/percussion), Max Eilbacher (bass/electronics), Owen Gardner (guitar), and Sam Haberman (drums). The band builds its sound on just intonation and microtonal tuning - Gardner hand-modifies the guitars himself - layering polyrhythmic structures with influences from krautrock, Afrobeat, and algorithmic composition. Now based in Germany, they have released a string of critically acclaimed records on RVNG Intl., most recently the 2026 album "Demand to Be Taken to Heaven Alive!", which for the first time features vocals and expanded instrumentation.
