About

Irvine Welsh is a Scottish novelist best known for Trainspotting (1993), a raw portrait of Edinburgh heroin addicts written in thick Scots dialect. Danny Boyle adapted it into a film in 1996, with Ewan McGregor in the lead role. Welsh has continued writing fiction that mixes dark humour with biting social commentary.
