James Arthur (born 2 March 1988 in Middlesbrough, England) is a British singer-songwriter who won the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012. His winner's single "Impossible" topped the UK chart and sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide - the most successful winner's single in the show's history. He has since released six studio albums, with "Say You Won't Let Go" (2016) earning RIAA Diamond certification in the US, and his 2025 album PISCES debuting at number three on the UK Albums Chart.
