James Blake (born 26 September 1988, London) is a British singer, songwriter and producer whose music sits at the intersection of electronic minimalism, soul and alt-R&B. His Mercury Prize-winning second album 'Overgrown' (2013) and the Grammy-winning collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock cemented his reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music. A sought-after collaborator for Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, SZA and ROSALÍA, he left major-label Polydor in 2024 and released his seventh album 'Trying Times' independently in March 2026.
James Blake released his seventh studio album 'Trying Times' on 13 March 2026 via his own Good Boy Records label - his first fully independent full-length release after leaving Polydor.
Blake announced the 'Trying Times Tour', a 19-date run spanning North America (May-June 2026) and Europe (September-October 2026), including two nights in London and two in Berlin.
Blake collaborated with UK rapper Dave on the track 'Doesn't Just Happen', featured on 'Trying Times', and also co-wrote 'Séance' with Ludwig Göransson for Ryan Coogler's film 'Sinners'.
Blake departed major label Polydor in April 2024 after approximately twelve years, subsequently partnering with Good Boy Records and Stellar Music as an independent artist.
Blake released 'Bad Cameo' (2024), a collaborative album with Lil Yachty, as his first project after going independent.
