About

Jefferson Starship is an American rock band from San Francisco, formed in 1974 by former members of Jefferson Airplane - most notably Paul Kantner and Grace Slick. Over the 1970s and early '80s they released eight gold or platinum albums, with 1975's Red Octopus hitting #1 on the Billboard 200 and going double platinum. The band has continued touring well into the 21st century, currently led by co-founder David Freiberg alongside vocalist Cathy Richardson and guitarist Jude Gold.
