Joja Wendt (born 31 July 1964 in Hamburg) is a German jazz pianist, composer and Steinway Artist who studied at the conservatory in Hilversum and at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. Discovered by Joe Cocker while playing in a Hamburg club, he went on to perform alongside Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino, and has since built a reputation as one of Germany's most in-demand concert pianists. His programmes move fluidly between boogie-woogie, jazz, blues and classical repertoire - from Bach to Rachmaninov - delivered with a sharp sense of humour and direct audience contact. He holds the Louis Armstrong Prize (2000) and the German Blues Award in the Piano category (2025).
