Joyce Moreno (born 31 January 1948 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and arranger whose work spans bossa nova, samba, MPB, and jazz. Declared "one of the greatest singers" by Antônio Carlos Jobim, she pioneered the first-person feminine voice in Brazilian songwriting - her 1967 song "Me Disseram" was the first composition by a Brazilian woman written from that perspective. Over more than five decades she has released over 40 albums and written nearly 400 songs, many covered by artists from Elis Regina and Milton Nascimento to Annie Lennox and the Black Eyed Peas.
Joyce Moreno and her husband Tutty Moreno released the album "Joyce e Tutty Moreno JID027" on the Jazz Is Dead label, produced by Adrian Younge as a tribute to their late friend João Donato.
Joyce Moreno released "O Mar é Mulher" (Biscoito Fino), a 10-track album of original compositions described by the artist as a thematic companion to her 1980 classic "Feminina".
Joyce Moreno performed an eight-show residency at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City starting 6 February 2025.
Far Out Recordings released "Natureza", a previously unreleased 1977 session produced by Claus Ogerman featuring Michael Brecker, Naná Vasconcelos, and Buster Williams.
