Joyce

Joyce – a legendary Brazilian vocalist and composer – was recognized as a teenager by Antonio Carlos Jobim as one of the most brilliant singers of her generation. Despite recording over 30 albums and collaborating with leading musicians worldwide, her international career remained underappreciated for many years.

In the late 1970s, she recorded the album "Natureza" in New York with renowned producer Claus Ogerman and outstanding jazz musicians. The album was never released at the time due to artistic reasons and changing musical trends. For decades it remained shrouded in legend, until finally seeing the light of day 45 years later – in keeping with the artist's original vision.

Joyce is also a pioneer of the female voice in Brazilian music – her work, often censored during the dictatorship era, addressed themes of identity and freedom. Songs like "Feminina" became classics of the jazz scene worldwide.

The concert at Jassmine is an encounter with an artist of extraordinary history – full of courage, independence, and musical sensitivity, blending Brazilian rhythms with jazz improvisation.
