Judith Hermann is a German author born in 1970 in Berlin. She rose to prominence with her debut short-story collection Sommerhaus, später (1998), establishing herself as a distinctive voice in contemporary German literature. Her writing is known for its spare, lyrical style and its exploration of transience and everyday melancholy.
