About

Kadavar is a German heavy rock band from Berlin, founded in 2010 by guitarist/vocalist Christoph "Lupus" Lindemann and drummer Christoph "Tiger" Bartelt. Their sound draws on the psychedelic and hard rock of the 1970s - think Black Sabbath, Hawkwind and Led Zeppelin - and has earned them a devoted following across Europe and beyond. Originally a trio, they expanded to a four-piece in 2023 when guitarist and keyboardist Jascha Kreft joined, and in 2025 they released two studio albums in a single year: the melodic "I Just Want to Be a Sound" and the harder, riff-driven "Kids Abandoning Destiny Among Vanity and Ruin" (K.A.D.A.V.A.R.).

    Kadavar released their second album of 2025, "Kids Abandoning Destiny Among Vanity and Ruin" (K.A.D.A.V.A.R.), on November 7 via Clouds Hill, returning to a heavier, riff-focused sound.

    Kadavar's seventh studio album "I Just Want to Be a Sound" was released in July 2025 and reached number 10 on the German album charts.

    Kadavar played a nine-date German-language tour in October-December 2025, including stops in Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Vienna, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne and Berlin.

  • 2026-06

    Kadavar are scheduled to appear at Hellfest 2026 in Clisson (France) and Graspop Metal Meeting 2026 in Dessel (Belgium) in June 2026.

  • 2023-03

    Kadavar expanded from a trio to a four-piece in March 2023 with the addition of guitarist and keyboardist Jascha Kreft, formerly of the Odd Couple.
