Kasiva Mutua is a Kenyan percussionist, singer and composer whose music is rooted in East African traditions and woven together with jazz and pan-African influences. She is one of the few women in Kenya to have carved out a career as a professional drummer, and performs both as a solo artist and in international collaborations. Her album Desturi captures this layered sonic identity.
