Krishna Das (born Jeffrey Kagel, 1947, Long Island, NY) is an American vocalist who brought Hindu devotional chanting - kirtan - to Western concert halls and yoga studios. He traveled to India in 1970 and became a disciple of the saint Neem Karoli Baba, an encounter that shaped his entire musical path. The New York Times dubbed him 'the chant master of American yoga,' and his 2012 live album Live Ananda earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Age Album.
