Loona is the stage name of Dutch singer and dancer Marie-José van der Kolk (born 16 September 1974 in IJmuiden, Netherlands), who built her career in Germany's eurodance scene of the late 1990s. Her 1998 cover of "Bailando" spent eight weeks at number one in Germany and earned her an Echo Award; "Hijo de la Luna" followed it straight to the top of the same chart. She has remained active ever since, releasing new material and collaborating with artists across the European dance scene well into the 2020s.
