Major Lazer is an American electronic dance collective founded in 2008 by producer Diplo and DJ Switch, rooted in Jamaican sound-system culture and dancehall. The group rose to global prominence with the Diamond-certified 'Lean On' (2015) and has since racked up over 10 billion streams on Spotify across its catalog. In 2025, British-Jamaican artist America Foster joined Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Ape Drums as the group's first woman member, marking a new chapter for the project.
