Marlen Haushofer (1920–1970) was an Austrian writer whose work explores existential themes, alienation, and the position of women in society. She is best known for the novel Die Wand (The Wall, 1963). The novella Wir töten Stella (We Kill Stella) is among her most significant prose works.
