About
Martin Kohlstedt (born 1988 in Breitenworbis, Thuringia) is a German composer, pianist, and record producer who studied media art at Bauhaus University Weimar and trained in jazz piano before developing his own language of modular composition. His music sits at the intersection of modern classical, ambient, and electronica - each piece functions as a building block that he recombines and improvises with live, so no two concerts are alike. He has released seven studio albums on his own Edition Kohlstedt label, collaborated with the Leipzig Gewandhaus choir, and scored films and theatre productions alongside his concert work.
