About
Nabucco is an opera by Giuseppe Verdi, first performed in Milan in 1842. The plot is based on the biblical story of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar and the captivity of the Jewish people. The opera is celebrated for the chorus „Va, pensiero", which became a symbol of the Italian national movement known as the Risorgimento.
