About

Nothing is an American shoegaze band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded around 2010 by vocalist and guitarist Domenic "Nicky" Palermo. Their sound layers walls of distorted guitar over melodic, introspective songwriting - rooted in hardcore punk but shaped by the heavier end of shoegaze and slowcore. Five studio albums in, from the landmark debut Guilty of Everything (2014) through to A Short History of Decay (2026), the band has become one of the most influential acts in the current shoegaze revival. Palermo also curates Slide Away, a shoegaze festival he launched in 2024 that has grown into a bicoastal US event.
