About
Obscura is a German technical death metal band from Landshut, founded in 2002 by guitarist and vocalist Steffen Kummerer. Over seven studio albums - from the breakthrough Cosmogenesis (2009) to the latest A Sonication (2025) - the band built a reputation for compositionally dense, fretless-bass-driven extreme metal that draws on progressive and melodic influences. With over 800 shows across four continents, they rank among the most active touring acts in the genre.
